#LinkedIn #Linkedin-Newsletters So, I put off creating my LinkedIn newsletter for ages because I wasn't sure if it was worth it. ♂️ I mean, it's just a bunch of articles bundled together, right? Anyways, I finally took the plunge, and guess what? First week, I hit over 1,000 subscribers! And now, a couple of months later, I've got 3,537 subscribers and counting. Why does that matter? Well, when you share a post, you can easily get thousands of eyeballs on it as long as it's solid content. But here's the thing - an impression on LinkedIn doesn't guarantee someone actually read or engaged with your post. It's simply your post popping up on someone's screen for more than 300 milliseconds. And, guess what? You have zero say in whose screen that impression lands on—it's all handled by the algorithm. Now, when it comes to articles, it's a bit tougher. If you manage to get a few hundred impressions in the first days, you're doing exceptionally well! LinkedIn tends to limit the reach of articles because they believe folks don't want to see lengthy write-ups in their newsfeed. Don't let that discourage you from writing articles, though! They're awesome for showcasing your expertise and appearing in searches both on and off LinkedIn. So, keep on writing—trust me, it pays off in the end! When someone subscribes to your newsletter, they get a heads-up every time you drop a new edition. That means they're more likely to click through and give your writing a little read. Plus, it consistently reaches the same awesome audience (your loyal subscribers ), letting you keep building connections and boosting that know-like-trust vibe. And, you know what that can lead to? More paying clients in the long run! Now, I'm about to guide you through the whole process of creating your own newsletter. But before we dive in, let me spill the beans on why I believe I hit the ground running with success. Lately, I've stepped up my content game on LinkedIn. I'll be honest, I'm a bit lazy or maybe just too much of a perfectionist when it comes to creating content. It takes me longer than I'd like, and with a busy schedule, it feels like a bit of a chore. But here's the kicker—I recognize the value it brings, and I know my insights can help others. That's what keeps me going, even when it feels like I'd rather be doing something else! The magic of creating content consistently (even if it's just 2-3 times per week! ) has been real for me. More folks are tuning in, and I've seen a boost in views, comments, reactions, and shares overall. I think this consistent content creation is why my newsletter kicked off on the right foot. So, here's a nugget of advice for you: start getting your content out there a few weeks before you launch your newsletter. Make sure it's valuable and something people genuinely want to read and engage with. That way, you set yourself up for success. Now, let's dive into the details. After you've laid the groundwork with about four weeks of solid, high-value content, follow the steps below to send your first newsletter edition out into the world! Step 1 - Turn on Creator Mode Go to your profile page and scroll down to the resources section to switch Creator Mode on. Then, click on the link ‘Creator mode’ as shown below to get into the Creator Hub. "New to Creator Mode? Check out this quick guide about how to activate the Creator Mode!" Step 2 - Check Newsletters Are Available Once the Creator Hub window opens scroll down to the Creator tools section and check that the Newsletters feature is available. If it isn’t you may not meet the criteria to have access to newsletter creation and may have to reach out to LinkedIn support by opening a ticket to get it enabled. To check if you meet the criteria, read this article from LinkedIn Support. Step 3 - Start Writing an Article Exit the Creator Hub and go back to your home page. Then click on ‘Write article’, choose the profile or page you want to write the article from (you should do it from your personal profile!) and then click ‘Next’ Step 4 - Select Newsletter from the Dropdown Menu This will open the article editor page. In the top right corner of the editor you’ll see a button to ‘Create an individual article’. Click on it and that will open some options. You can see mine below that already has a newsletter option because I started it and the option to ‘Create a newsletter’ is greyed out because you’re only allowed to create one at the moment. Select that option and start creating! If you got value from this article and you’d like to receive more content like this, once each week straight to your email inbox then you can subscribe to my email newsletter. I’d love to hear your feedback on how you get on creating your newsletter. If this article helped, (or not!), please let me know.
